Join us for the 3rd Annual Fujitani-Julian Fishing Derby on May 3, 2026-your chance to cast a line and create lasting memories! Suburban Subaru will be stocking the Hockanum River at Vernon Golfland with 150 trout ready to be caught. This is a catch-and-release event.

Event Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Registration begins at 8:00 AM)
Who: Children ages 13 and under
No fishing license required.

What to Bring: Fishing pole or fly rod, bait & tackle, boots or appropriate footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and a love for fishing!

Start your journey by parking at Rocking Horse Smokehouse (57 Hartford Tpke). From there, make your way across the footbridge-our event tent will be just over the bridge, where you can register your young angler.

Grab a complimentary coffee and donut courtesy of Ellington Dunkin' Donuts, then follow the path along the par 3 course to the riverbank to find the perfect fishing spot!

Need a quick bite so you can get back to the action? Take a short walk to Subway in Vernon and enjoy free chips and a 20 oz drink with the purchase of any sandwich.

🌧️ Rain or shine, this event is on! 🍦 All registered participants will also enjoy a free scoop of ice cream, courtesy of Coneheads-a sweet way to top off the day!
