At Suburban Subaru, "Community" Isn't Just a Buzzword - Michael E
At Suburban Subaru, we see ourselves as part of the community, so we're always ready to help our neighbors when they need us. Not long ago, we had a chance to prove this on Interstate 84. A customer who had just started driving her new Subaru Ascent ran into trouble. On her way to UCONN, she got a flat tire and had to pull over on the highway. She was distraught and couldn't find the key to her lug-nut locks, so she called us for help. We knew her trip was important and that being stuck on a busy highway was dangerous. Instead of just giving advice over the phone, we decided to help in person. We quickly sent a support vehicle to her location. When our team arrived on I-84, they checked the situation and got to work right away. In just a few minutes, they changed the tire, made sure the car was safe, and she was back on the road. Thanks to our fast response, what could have ruined her day turned into just a small delay. She made it to UCONN safely and on time.
Gemini saidRacing Toward a Brighter Future: A "Subaru Loves to Help" Success Story - Michael E
At Suburban Subaru, we care about our community in more ways than just selling cars. Through the Subaru Love Promise, we look for ways to support the next generation of leaders, creators, and competitors. Recently, we had the chance to swap the open road for a wooden track at the annual Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. The Tradition of the Track The Pinewood Derby is a tradition many of us remember from our own childhoods. In this event, Cub Scouts get a simple block of wood and are challenged to turn it into a fast racing car. Building these cars takes patience and attention to detail. Scouts choose their designs, watch volunteers cut the shapes, and put care into every curve and coat of paint. There is even some "garage science" involved, as scouts weigh their cars and add or remove material to reach the 5-ounce limit. This year, Suburban Subaru was proud to sponsor a car in the race. We watched the Scouts make their final adjustments the night before, checking that the wheels were straight and the weight was just right for race day. When the green light flashed, the room was full of excitement. Cars from different dens raced against each other, and the Suburban Subaru-sponsored car showed great balance on the track. After several close races, our car didn't just compete, it won the whole event! More Than Just a Race We are happy to have a trophy to show, but the best part was seeing everyone come together. Whether a scout won with the fastest car or took home the "Slowest Car" award, the day was really about skill, good sportsmanship, and family. Supporting local youth groups like the Cub Scouts is very important to us. We believe that whether you drive a Crosstrek or a small wooden racer, the best part of the journey is sharing it with your community. Congratulations to all the Scouts on a great race day! We look forward to seeing what you create next year The Tradition of the Track The Pinewood Derby is a time-honored tradition that many of us remember fondly from our own childhoods. It's an event where Cub Scouts are handed a simple, solid block of wood and challenged to turn it into a high-performance racing machine. Building these cars is a masterclass in patience and precision. From choosing the perfect template to watching volunteers carefully cut shapes with jigsaws, the Scouts put their hearts into every curve and coat of paint. There is even a bit of "garage science" involved—scouts must carefully weigh their cars, adding lead or drilling holes to hit that competitive 5-ounce limit just right. A Winning Partnership This year, Suburban Subaru was honored to sponsor a car in the race. We watched as the Scouts made their final adjustments the night before, ensuring the wheels were aligned and the weight was perfect for race day. When the green light flashed, the energy in the room was electric. Cars from different dens faced off in heat after heat, but the Suburban Subaru-sponsored car showed some serious "Subaru symmetry" on the track. After a series of nail-biting finishes, our car didn't just compete—it took home the overall win! More Than Just a Race While we are thrilled to have a trophy to display, the real win was seeing the community come together. Whether a scout walked away with the fastest car or the "Slowest Car" award (a fan-favorite tradition!), the day was about craftsmanship, sportsmanship, and family. Supporting local youth organizations like the Cub Scouts is a core part of who we are. We believe that whether you're driving a Crosstrek or a five-ounce wooden racer, the most important part of the journey is the community you have riding along with you. Congratulations to all the Scouts on a spectacular race day! We can't wait to see what you build next year.
Subaru Loves Learning: A Heartfelt Thank You from an Adopted Classroom - Robert J
Dear Suburban Subaru Team, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for adopting my classroom through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative. Your generous support means more than words can fully express, and I am incredibly grateful for your investment in our students and in the future of education. While I may not have appeared overly expressive when we met, please know that I am deeply appreciative of your kindness and generosity. Sometimes the impact of such a gesture takes a little time to sink in, but I want to assure you that your support will have a lasting and meaningful effect on both my teaching and my students' learning experiences. Thanks to your contribution, we'll be able to provide better resources, enhance student engagement, and create a more dynamic and inspiring classroom environment. Your commitment to our community and to education truly makes a difference. From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for choosing to support our classroom. It means so much to know that businesses like Suburban Subaru are willing to invest in the next generation.
Suburban Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Nate R
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Vernon, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Suburban Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Suburban Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. Suburban Subaru of Vernon Delivers Warmth and Compassion Through Subaru Loves to Care - Paige C
As part of the national Subaru Loves to Care initiative in partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Suburban Subaru proudly donated 80 blankets to local cancer patients, offering comfort and support during their treatment journey. Each blanket delivered was a symbol of hope—a simple but powerful gesture to remind patients they are not alone. The caring team at Suburban Subaru personally took part in the delivery. This effort reflects Suburban Subaru’s commitment to making a difference beyond the showroom. Through Subaru Loves to Care, they continue to spread kindness and bring light to those facing some of life’s toughest challenges. Suburban Subaru is proud to be part of a mission that delivers not only warmth, but also the strength of a caring community.
A Nurse's Thank You: Suburban Subaru's 2025 Promise of Warmth - Jenny J
Working at the hospital, especially in oncology, you see a lot. You see strength, resilience, and hope, even in the most challenging moments. And sometimes, you see how something as simple as a warm blanket can make an immeasurable difference. That's why I want to express my gratitude to Suburban Subaru for their ongoing dedication to our patients at Hartford Hospital. It might surprise you, but hospitals can be surprisingly cold. For patients undergoing treatments like chemotherapy, who are already battling so much, that chill can be particularly uncomfortable. It's a small detail, but it's one that often goes unnoticed by those outside these walls. Recently, the team from Suburban Subaru, Pete, Lane, Britlyn, and Joey, revisited us as part of their Subaru Loves to Care initiative, delivering a new batch of cozy blankets and thoughtful, handwritten messages. I can tell you firsthand what this means to our patients. It's more than just a blanket; it's a tangible expression of care and warmth during a time when they truly need it. It brings a sense of comfort and a reminder that people in the community are thinking of them. Suburban Subaru's partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a powerful example of how businesses can make a real difference in people's lives. We've seen the impact of these donations year after year, and it's clear that their commitment goes beyond a one-time gesture. They understand the profound importance of compassion and support for those facing cancer. From all of us here at the hospital, and especially from our patients, thank you, Suburban Subaru. Thank you for making our hospital a little bit warmer and for bringing so much comfort and hope to those who need it most. Your kindness truly helps us make a difference, one warm heart at a time.
More Than Just Fishing: A Wonderful Community Event by Suburban Subaru - Michael E
Our family had a fantastic time at the 2nd Annual Fujitani-Julian Fishing Derby, and we wanted to give a big shout-out to Suburban Subaru for creating such a wonderful community event! As complete novice fishermen, my son's sock was my most impressive catch! – We hoped for a fun and easy way to enjoy the outdoors together. This derby, so generously put on by Suburban Subaru, was exactly what we needed and more. The atmosphere was so welcoming and exciting from the moment we arrived at Vernon Golfland. Finding the registration tent was a breeze, and the coffee and donuts from Ellington Dunkin Donuts were a lovely touch. Even the little walk down to the riverbank felt like part of the fun! We were so grateful for the help we received from Lane, Pete, and Tom. They were incredibly helpful in getting our rods set up, showing us how to tie hooks, and advising us on bait – we had no clue what we were doing! While the trout managed to evade our amateur attempts, the joy of spending quality time together, casting our lines into the Hockanum River, and soaking in the beautiful scenery was its reward. Seeing so many families connecting, kids laughing, and everyone enjoying a bit of friendly competition was heartwarming. The promise of free ice cream from Coneheads was a big hit with the kids! Suburban Subaru, thank you for your outstanding commitment to our community. This free event was a fantastic opportunity to unite families, foster a love for nature, and create lasting memories. We truly appreciate your dedication to giving back and providing fun and engaging experiences for everyone. Even though our fishing rods only managed to reel in a sock, our hearts were hooked by the sense of community and the wonderful spirit of the day, all thanks to Suburban Subaru. We're so proud to be part of a community supported by such a caring and involved dealership. We're looking forward to many more "Subaru Love Promise" moments!
More Than a Logo: The Deep Connection Between Suburban Subaru and Ballou Motorsports - Ballou R
Suburban Subaru is not just a dealership; it's a pit stop of passion for motorsports, deeply invested in the journey of Robert Ballou and his Ballou Motorsports team. Their commitment isn’t just a logo on a race car—it’s a shared drive for excellence, a testament to the power of local support fueling national dreams. Notably, Peter Krause, the owner of Suburban Subaru, is a familiar and welcome face at racing events, enthusiastically following Ballou’s progress on the track. The Ballou team deeply appreciates Peter’s presence and enjoys the opportunity to connect with him during these events. From the roar of the engines on the track to the meticulous work in the Ballou Motorsports garage, Suburban Subaru stands as a steadfast partner. They recognize the dedication it takes for Robert to drive, own, crew chief, and wrench on his own operation. This sponsorship is a nod to that tireless effort—acknowledging the grit and determination that defines “The Madman” and his team. But this isn’t a one-sided relationship. What makes this partnership truly special is its mutual. Robert and Ballou Motorsports have proudly supported Suburban Subaru—purchasing from the dealership, and perhaps even more significantly, introducing the Suburban Subaru name to a broader audience. Through Robert’s strong reputation and extensive racing network, he has connected the dealership with customers and communities they may not have otherwise reached. It’s a partnership built not only on shared passion, but also on real-world results—new relationships, and new opportunities. Suburban Subaru’s support helps keep the wheels turning—literally and figuratively. It contributes to the long hauls between racing events, the crucial engine work powered by Don Ott Racing Engines, and the essential parts sourced from Indy Race Parts. Beyond financial backing, it’s a vote of confidence—a local business championing a national talent. Just as Robert built Ballou Motorsports from the ground up, Suburban Subaru has built its reputation on reliability, community engagement, and long-standing relationships. Their partnership is a natural fit: a shared belief in hard work, perseverance, and the thrill of competition. It’s a promise that extends beyond race day—fostering a genuine connection between a local dealership and a nationally recognized racing team. More than a formal contract, Suburban’s commitment manifests as consistent support—empowering Robert to chase victories and solidify his lasting impact. This mutual appreciation is underscored by Peter Krause’s active involvement—attending races, engaging with the team, and celebrating both milestones and challenges alike. Suburban Subaru understands they are more than just a sponsor; they are part of the Ballou Motorsports family. Together, they’ve built something greater than business—a shared journey powered by trust, performance, and the unshakable belief in each other. It’s a love promise lived at full throttle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9ZcY2iBSrQ
48 Hours of Tristate 2025 Charity Run Recap - Christopher S
Dear Suburban Subaru, I just got back from the charity run and let me tell you, it was a blast! Thanks to you so far as of this writing for this year we have raised $122,692! And we are at 82% of our goal; and we couldn’t have done it without your generous support. So again, thank you for your donations as we couldn’t do it without your support. It was an interesting experience to see and partake in the event. On Thursday night we were invited to Subaru of America and were dinner guests of theirs while they went over their commitment to helping the community and were very appreciative of the drivers’ relationships to Subaru and giving back to the community. The entrance was beautiful, just look at that ceiling art. The following day we went to the Make a Wish castle, and learned that over the 24 years of the group they have raised over $600k for make a wish. Also I learned that the most common wish that children ask for is a trip to Disneyworld. After a great lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord in PA from a title sponsor donation we were on the road , taking the back roads to Winchester Va. The roads were clean and the views were beautiful. We had about 16 cars in our group The main day, Saturday, we unfortunately could not do our planned destination of the Skyline drive, but instead the group leaders were able to find alternate routes and we drove through the Shenandoah and George Washington national parks. The flowing roads with the backdrop of the winter weather, with snow coming down and the peaceful quiet forests was amazing!. Sunday was more of the same, except the weather was worse. However the group and our well equipped vehicles were able to withstand the harshest of weather and we triumphed through the storm while others around us were not so lucky. So thank you for making this dream come true, and making many others dreams a reality.
More Than Just Jackets: Suburban Subaru's Partnership Empowers Young Boxers - Carley F
Dear Suburban Subaru, Thank you for partnering with us and Operation Warm. The jackets you provided are indeed a game-changer! You can't imagine the difference they make for our community. We are all about giving these kids a fighting chance, and you guys get that. It is not just about boxing, it is about building character, teaching discipline, and showing these kids that someone cares. When they are not freezing while walking to the gym in the winter, they can focus on what truly matters. Thank you to Peter, Lane, Britlyn, Michael, Keith, Helna, and Carley. It wasn't just a drop-off; you all took the time to talk to the kids and see what we were about. That means a lot to us. We can tell you genuinely care. We have over 200 kids coming through here. For some, this gym is their safe space, their family. It's where they learn to push themselves, build confidence, and find a community. And thanks to you and Subaru's Love Promise, they'll be warmer while doing it. So, thank you to all of us at Central City Boxing. You are part of our team now, and we appreciate your support more than words can say. You are making a real difference in these kids' lives, and that's what it is about.
